Happy Grandparents Day!

September 11th was Grandparents Day. I hope you had a wonderful day. It was beautiful out. This is the time of the year when you liked to see the leaves starting to change colors.

You always used to say that I was the only Grand Child who remembered Grandparents Day!

Well, Sydney & Sam didn't remember either!

It might have been a Hallmark-made day, but it was important to me.

Gram, you and Harley were having a contest there for a while. I lost you both pretty close to each other.

Today would have been your 91st. Who would have thought you would outlive everyone? You were always sick. LOL

Paris Avenue

They sold your house on Paris for only $165,000. They wanted to buy the house so their child could go to Canty school.

That doesn't seem like a lot, but the economy is so bad now.

New Jersey

Sydney, mom, and I just returned from visiting the Cullinane's and Passarella's at the Jersey Shore. They are getting older and starting to have trouble with their hearing aids like you! But, otherwise, they are doing pretty well. You must have been watching over Aunt Virgie's shoulder because she on at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City.

It's too bad we never went there when you were still around. There are always regrets, you know.

They have a very nice house and we had a great visit.

Your Sister

We are going to visit Aunt Virge (and Uncle Dan) in New Jersey tomorrow. We are also going to visit Carole Marmion and Pat & Mike Cullinane too. I'm sure that you will be there with us!

Aunt Virge & Uncle Dan

Aunt Virge and Uncle Dan went to Florida for the winter, but Uncle Dan's shoulder and knees were so bad, he couldn't drive home. Diane and her husand picked them up, and now they are back in New Jersey.

Aunt Virge was told that she has Alzheimer's and she's having a lot of problems with her neck and arm. She said that Uncle Dan is taking good care of her.

Mom and I planned on visiting them in May, but now we have to postpone it because mom had foot surgery and her doctor said she has to stay off of it for 2 months.

Harley

Dear Grandma,

I had to put Harley to sleep last week. I told her to visit you and Shelby, and I told her that you would take care of her. You always liked Harley and she always liked you. I know that you never cared for Daisy (a.k.a., Buttercup).

Please take good care of her like you used to take care of me. She loves to eat, so I'm sure you'll enjoy making her something. She will be so happy if she could run and play again. I'm sure you feel the same way. Harley never met Grandpa, but I'm sure that Grandpa will love her too. He always liked dogs. Maybe she could keep him company while he drives because she loves rides.

Be sure to tell Harley how much I love and miss her. She was my baby girl. I miss her so much, but I will feel better knowing that you are taking care of her.

Rice Mold

Mom made Grandma's rice mold for our Fitzgerald Christmas. She made it in a giant pan and made a giant mess!

It was good, but it reminded me of the Green Giant Wild Rice and Mushrooms, which is a lot easier.

In My Sleep

Last week Grandma was putting the covers over me as I slept. I think she realized that I had a bad day!

I'm sure a lot of people might not believe it, but it was really strange. It woke me up out of a sound sleept. At first I was startled and mad.
